For the online application process, Bern University of Applied Sciences as the data controller uses the application management system of the company umantis - Haufe-Lexware GmbH & Co. KG (hereafter “umantis”), whereby umantis hosts the data as contractor of Bern University of Applied Sciences. Data processing follows the requirements of the Cantonal Data Protection Act of 19 February 1986 (KDSG; BSG 152.04).

Consent
In order to apply electronically for vacancies at Bern University of Applied Sciences, you must register as a user by generating a personal username and password.
By using the application management system, you agree to the storage and processing of your data. Only the information and data necessary for the application process will be requested, and you can decide for yourself which data you would like to store via our online form. The data you store will be used exclusively in the application management system and will not be disclosed to third parties.

Access to your data
Only the persons involved in the recruitment process have access to your data.
You have access to your data throughout the application process and you may modify, update or delete it. If you wish to delete your entire profile, you can request this via your personal account. Our HR managers will subsequently carry out the deletion.

Data security
Our software provider umantis guarantees the use of state-of-the-art technologies to protect against unauthorised access to your personal data. The security standards are continuously adapted to the latest technological developments.
By submitting your electronic application, you agree to undertake full responsibility. For any loss of data, liability is limited to intentional or grossly negligent conduct and excluded for damages not directly resulting from the damaging event (indirect damages, e.g. loss of profit, loss of use benefits).

Deletion of your data
After completion of the recruitment process, your application documents are either - in the case of employment - transferred to your electronic personnel file at Bern University of Applied Sciences or - in the case of a negative decision - stored for approximately twelve months and then deleted. You will not be notified of the deletion of your data. BFH reserves the right to record your personal data (excluding your application documents) in the system for the purpose of evaluation (HR key facts).

If you have agreed to the release of data, we reserve the right to assign your application to a “pool”, so that we may draw your attention to other job offers that are of interest to you. If you do not agree to this or are no longer interested, you can delete your data (application documents) by yourself in the application management system at any time.
